In a 2022 Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) survey, 9% of women ages 18-64 said that they have experienced discrimination because of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, or some other personal characteristic during a health care visit in the past two years.
Twenty-nine percent of women 18-64 reported their doctor had dismissed their concerns.
Only 35% of women ages 40-64 said their health care provider ever talked to them about what to expect in menopause.
Twenty-one percent of women (including 38% of uninsured women), said it was difficult to find a doctor who explains things in a way that is easy to understand.
